Good day!

This is the post excerpt.

The world is beautiful and there is always a place for miracle in it 🙂 My name is Tina Walsh and I have the best job on earth – designing baby’s clothes 🙂 I’m fond of kids and everything connected with them. Perhaps that has something to do with the fact that I grew up in a very large family. I have two brothers and three sisters and all of them are younger than me. So I practically was their second mom 🙂 Now I have two children of my own and I don’t plan to stop there 🙂 Some of my siblings already have kids, too. You should see us all having a Thanksgiving Day picnic in Montrose Park 🙂

How to paint your life in bright colors

A rainbow house

I have a very optimistic nature. Even when something goes wrong and the world seems to be against me, I don’t lose spirit. I believe that everything in our life happens for a reason and even the darkest days have something good to give us 🙂 That’s why I try to surround myself only with things that make me feel happy and inspired. And since my home is the place I spend most of my time at, I put great effort into making it just as bright and joyful as I am 🙂 When you step in, you get an instant injection of good mood:

  • Everything in my house is very colorful. I don’t like pastel shades, they make me feel sleepy. Each of my rooms is dedicated to a certain color of the spectrum. And as you make your way through, it’s like sliding down the rainbow! 🙂 Cool, isn’t it? 🙂
  • I have lots of paintings hanging around. Some of them are just prints, some are genuine hand-painted canvases. It doesn’t matter. I don’t distinguish between ‘true art’ and ‘cheap fakes.’ As long as it’s beautiful, it works for me!
  • I collect cute trifles like crochet doilies, clay figurines, wood carvings and other stuff like that. You can see a whole battery of them standing on my book shelves, window sills, night tables and wherever there is any place left for them 🙂

One more painting, please!

Today I want to tell you about a wonderful artist whose works just recently ended up on my wall alongside other fancy decorations. His name is Leonid Afremov. I visited his website afremov.com by my sister’s recommendation who is a great fan of this painter. It’s a whole gallery of beautiful, colorful paintings, just like I love! The themes are pretty appealing too: romance in the rain, picturesque park alleys, spectacular autumn trees and kissing couples. How could I left such a beauty unattended? 🙂 So I decided to order a few paintings I found especially stunning. At first, I was a bit distrustful. Really, how can I know that Mr. Leonid Afremov is not some sort of picaroon fishing for naive customers? But, since I’m an optimist, I decided to go for it after all. And my faith in people didn’t let me down 🙂 The paintings arrived safe and sound and they were even prettier than I expected! By the way, I bought them very cheaply and delivery was free. I guess I’m gonna take another helping of Leonid’s art and purchase a few more of his amazing canvases for my other rooms!

Let the kids play and they will learn!

When I was a kid, there weren’t so many cool toys available (or at least affordable). I had to do with a couple of teddy bears, a doll house and a constructing set. Today it’s all different. The shops are full of awesome interactive toys that aren’t only fun to play with but also perfect for educating your little ones. For instance, take a look at this totally amazing butterfly hatching kit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Insect-Lore-Live-Butterfly-Garden-Hatching-Kit-/371907738860?hash=item56976dbcec:g:g5MAAOxyTjNSc2NJ. It actually allows you to grow butterflies from caterpillars just like they would in nature, observing all stages of the process up close! I bought it for my 10-year-old son who showed interest in nature and insects in particular after our family field trip 🙂 Billy was thrilled! We ordered caterpillars by post from the company and already started what my son calls ‘Project Aeterna’ (I guess he heard that name in some movie :). Our little green pets have already formed chrysalides and should transform into butterflies in about two weeks! The whole family is looking forward to seeing them. We are even making small bets on which one hatches first 🙂
